Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This page explains what information TravelPep (travelpep.com) collects when you visit, how we use it and what choices you have.

What we collect

When you leave a comment, we collect what you type in the comment form. We also record your IP address and browser details to help catch spam.

Your email address may be turned into a coded string, called a hash, and checked with Gravatar. Gravatar is a service that shows profile pictures, and its privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Once we approve your comment, your profile picture shows next to it.

When you write to us through the Contact page, we collect the details you enter so we can reply.

We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site, such as which pages they read, how long they stay and what device they use. This tells us which guides are helpful. It does not tell us who you are.

Ads on this site

TravelPep uses Google AdSense to show ads. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your past visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other companies’ cookies for personalised ads at www.aboutads.info. To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Affiliate links

Some articles have affiliate links, and those articles say so at the top. If you click one, the shop or affiliate network may save a cookie to show that you came from TravelPep. For example, Impact does this for our Pressable links. If you then buy something, we may earn a commission. You pay nothing extra, and we never see your payment details.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that your browser saves. If you choose, the comment form saves your name, email address and website for one year, so you do not have to type them again. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and page views. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads and check how they perform. An affiliate network may set a cookie when you click an affiliate link. The site’s editors also use login cookies when they sign in.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Content from other websites

Some articles include videos, maps or images from other websites. These work the same way as if you had visited that website yourself. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies and track how you use their content, especially if you have an account with them and are logged in.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with the services named on this page. That means Google for analytics and ads, Gravatar for profile pictures, a spam filter that checks comments, and affiliate networks when you click an affiliate link. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep your data

We keep comments and their details indefinitely. This lets us approve your next comment automatically instead of holding it for review. Messages sent through the Contact page are kept only as long as we need them to reply and follow up.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, such as your comments or messages. You can also ask for a copy of it. We may need to keep some data for legal, admin or security reasons. To make a request, write to us through the Contact page.

Changes to this page

We may update this page when the site or the services we use change. The date at the top shows when we last updated it.
